Zanovere Wizard Guide

Deeds

By the time you have hit level 2, you must have gained the favor of the goddess Lorminstra, in order that your soul be granted the authority to live again beyond your next death. From that point on, one resurrection will cost you one deed. Lack of a deed, you pay the ultimate price. Your soul, lost to the demonic, enslaved in the unlife, your identity forever lost, no control over your actions. Sad. Very sad, indeed.

But it doesn't have to be that way. I know of four different locations in the lands in which deeds can be obtained. One in the town of Wehnimer Landing, another near the Landing, on the grounds of Hearthstone Manor. One is in the town of Ice Mule Trace. One is in a shrine in the small caravansary town just outside of Solhaven. I understand that there is also a place in the town of River's Rest where you can obtain deeds, and there is most likely a spot on Teras Isle as well that I am not yet aware of. I will tell you about those spots which I know a little something about.

By your second training, you should have a minimum of three deeds, and you should never go below that number. It is good to gain your deeds while you can, while you are young and you have the resources. You could find yourself at a point in your life in which your deeds and your resources are few. You could find yourself dangerously close to the demonic. Use the experience verb to see how many deeds you have at any given time.

Wehnimer Temple

The Temple of Lorminstra in Wehnimer Landing is where adventurers can donate their silvers, that their deeds be recorded. Until recently, gems were also accepted at the temple, but now it appears that immortality comes on a cash-only basis.

Go into the temple, and go through the black arch. From there go behind the tapestry. You will see an acolyte on either side of you. There is also a chime, and a mallet. Ring chime with mallet. Ring chime with mallet a second time. Now kneel, and drop your silver. Finally ring chime with mallet a final time. You will be informed whether your deed has been recorded, or if the goddess was not amused by your feeble attempt for favor. Of course, she keeps the money regardless.

Legend has it that the goddess will be happy with one silver, plus one hundred silvers for every level you have thus far obtained, plus one hundred silvers for every deed which you have thus far obtained, plus one hundred silvers for the deed which you are requesting.

So if you are a third-level wizard, with two deeds, Lorminstra will grant you a third deed if you drop 1 + 300 + 200 + 100 = 601 silvers. If you are a sixty-third-level wizard with some thirty deeds, and you want a thirty-first deed, it will cost 1 + 6300 + 3000 + 100 = 66101 silvers. It's best to get your deeds while you are young.

The Ice Flow

Town Center is a bustling place in the town of Ice Mule Trace. Not far from Town Center, hidden in the side of a mountain is a quaint little spot from which you can obtain your deeds if you know how.

From Town Center, head north two blocks and east one block. If my gray matter serves me correctly I believe you have to then go up a ramp. This is where you will find the ice flow which hides the deed room. None but one adventurer at a time may obtain deeds. It is a small room.

Search the flow until you find a door. As a youngster, searching may prove a bit difficult. It helps if you have trained in perception. Also, the presence spell 402 will make you more keenly aware of your surroundings.

If the door is open, go door. Next, close door. You'll see a chain dangling nearby. Pull chain. The wall moves to reveal a drawer. Open drawer. Now you can put stuff in the drawer. Finally, close drawer. You will at that point either sense something positive, meaning that you successfully earned a deed. Or you will feel as if you could have given more, meaning that you did not. Then you can open the door and leave. Leave the door open for the next guy.

Do not put silvers in the drawer. Put magical items and herbs and stuff you find on gnomes and kobolds and in boxes into the drawer. Drake weapons, silver falchions, wands, statues, crystals, amulets, etc. These items are not very valuable to you as a young adventurer, but any one of them will get you your first deed, more than likely. Just clean your pockets and your backpack out periodically and get a deed. Keep your silvers in the bank.

Hearthstone Manor

Very similar to the ice flow of Ice Mule Trace, Hearthstone Manor offers Elanthia's most famous families a deed drawer. In order to enter Hearthstone, you must have a family fame of two-million or more. If you are an older adventurer or if you can trace your lineage through adventurers of fame, you may be welcome in Hearthstone Manor.

Hearthstone is located straight north of the north gate of Wehnimer Landing. All adventurers are allowed onto the steps, but only adventurers from famous families are allowed through the arch. If you are one of these famous adventurers, go arch.

From inside of Hearthstone Manor, you will see a number of banners of various colors. Go behind the purple banner. Then go through the oaken door. Next go down the walk and search vines for a door.

Go door, close door, pull rope, and open drawer. It is extremely similar to the ice flow, but with a rope instead of a chain. Put your items inside of the drawer and then close it. You'll sense something pleasant or you will feel as if you could have given more.

The Shrine

There is a small caravansary town up the northern steps and over to the east of Solhaven. You must go through an entrance to get to the caravansary town. This is not the same caravansary town which is just south of the foothills on the Vornavis Trail, near the Castle Varunar. This caravansary town is an annex of Solhaven, just off the northern steps.

In the southwest corner of this caravansary town is a shrine. Go into the shrine and you will find a curtain. Go behind the curtain and you will see a brazier.

Close the curtain and put your stuff into the brazier. Kneel and then light the brazier. If you've put enough stuff in there you'll get a good feeling, and a deed from the experience. Otherwise you'll feel as if you could have given more.
